Global spending on beauty influencers increased $6 billion between 2017 and 2019. A review from a favorite beauty influencer is valued over traditional advertising and beauty brands have taken note. In a recent research over 500 beauty enthusiasts were asked where they received information on beauty products, which 67% answered social media influencers. Most beauty influencers have created a personal brand that is built on the trust of her/his followers, and usually commit to giving honest reviews on beauty products. So lets break down what's a Beauty Influencer, and ways they generate income.

What's a Beauty Influencer?

An individual who is well-known for her/his expertise in make-up, hair and/or skincare.

How Beauty Influencers Generate Income

Even though there are various ways for a beauty influencer to generate income, here we list four achievable influencer tactics for entrepreneurs in the beauty industry to incorporate in business operations.

1. Enjoy creating beauty content?

If so, consider creating a YouTube channel or a beauty blog? There are a bunch of angles one can take when creating beauty content, from "How-To" tutorials, honest brand reviews, to a new refreshing perception that further helps expand the standards of what society considers "beautiful".

2. Be the "Plug" with #PaidAds

Whether you manage a YouTube channel or write a beauty blog, brands are looking to put their ads on influencer's page to not only increase brand exposure, but to use the Paid Clicks results as a remarketing audience list. A remarketing audience list is a list of cookies or mobile-advertising IDs that represents a group of users you want to re-engage because of their likelihood to convert.

3. Stop leaving money on the table

Affiliate programs been around since the early 1900s, yet they still get a bad rap from those who did it all wrong in the past. While some believe these programs and direct buying businesses alike are "get rich quick schemes", others understand the opportunity they provide. Ever recommend a beauty brand to someone, and they purchased it? Whether it was a shampoo for a particular hair texture or a lip stick made with natural ingredients, theses programs are put in place for you to earn a percentage of that sell.

So tell me this beautrepreneurs, are you already making the recommendations? If so, you're probably leaving money on the table.

4. Got Followers?

Then becoming a Brand Ambassador may not be too far fetched. Because now of days, brands are looking to preserve consumer's trust through the "word of mouth" of beauty influencers. In a recent study conducted by PR powerhouse Edelman, 74% of consumers use one or more advertising avoidance tactics, with nearly HALF using ad blocking technology on their computer. In the same research, 61% of people now find information from “a person like me” to be credible or very credible.

Now becoming a Brand Ambassador is not realistic for every beautrepreneur, however if you already have numbers in followers, that additional income may only generate a couple of hundreds or it could bump your overall income to the next level.

Bottom-line beautrepreneurs, providing your target audience with a beauty service, like a hair cut or a facial, is not the only way to generate money and you can do most, simultaneously.
